Brazilian waxing in CT

can sometimes be a daunting task but we are sure that you will not have to look for such a service again after experiencing our brazilian waxing in ct services!

What is Brazilian Waxing and how does it differ from other types of waxing treatments?

Brazilian bikini waxes were introduced in the US and specifically in New York around 1987.  It was actually started by 7 brazilian sisters that resided state side and this method remains the hair removal method of choice for the majority of the population. Brazilian bikini waxing differs from most other types of treatments because hair is actually removed in the front, in between and in the back. At times, some clients opt to leave a “landing strip” in the front yet other choose to have everything removed.

What entails getting a Brazilian Waxing treatments and what should I expect?

The waxing procedure can at times be somewhat lengthy (15-30 mins) but could fluctuate around that time.  Here’s a typical procedure

  1. All waxing usually occurs behind closed doors and in private rooms.  Not a lot of clients who are not getting this service enjoy the oooo’s and ouch’s that most under take when getting a Brazilian waxing treatment performed – hence the private and closed doors :)
  2. Talcum powder or other types of solutions are usually applied to the to-be waxed areas to ensure the hot wax does not stick to the skin
  3. A fast waxer (which removes fast) tends to be less painful for you.  You may request for the wax to be removed quickly or you may also request to have a thicker coat of wax applied and cooled AND THEN have the wax removed.  At times, this has produced less painful results as well
  4. If the hair removal is a little painful, you can always ask for smaller areas for the strips to be applied each time (as opposed to larger areas) – Note: This process can take longer and additional charges could be applied/added
  5. For a complete hair removal (including the buttox) you may also ask for the “Hollywood Wax” which leaves no hair any where!
  6. A soothing lotion will be applied to the waxed areas.  Lotions such as Aloe or hydrocortisone cream can aid if you develop bumps, redness or any ingrown hairs.

Quick notes:

  • Brazilian waxing can be painful when performed for the first few times but will become much more acceptable and less painful with frequent visits.
  • To avoid ingrown hairs (caused by the hairs growing back while somewhat curled), regularly use exfoliating creams and lotions and use a scrub containing salicylic or glycolic acid.
